Driving!

With a new love of sitting behind the wheel, Camia has found a great appreciation for the car horn, which she exercised today when I was not really expecting it. I put her in the front seat because I was installing the car seat after spending the day with a friend who drove around and I needed to put the stroller in the trunk so we could go for a walk around Mill Lake. What better place to put a tot who likes to take off at the first moment she gets? She reminded me she was still there by laying on the horn when I turned away for a brief moment. I admit that it surprised me. And it made her laugh. The turkey :D.

Ahh, one day she will be behind the wheel AND be able to reach the gas pedal with her feet instead of crawling down to press it with her hands, and see out of the window while sitting on her bum. For now, though, she can sit in her knees. And be my baby.

So Sleepy!

Camia had a rough night the other night and this is the only way she would fall asleep:I sung "Hush Little Baby" and didn't even get half way through the song before she conked out...

Re-purpose a Skirt: Coin Pocket

I was at Value Village the other week and found a skirt made from this fabric:I fell in love. I bought it. I brought it home. I had no idea what I was going to do with it, and since I am not a size 2 there was no way I was going to squeeze into it. Not even if I sucked in and held my breath. So, I used the bottom ruffle (silly me for not taking a before photo..this is kind of what it looked like
) to make a coin purse. I also want to make a pen holder for my Epicure bag so the pens are neatly organized and don't fall out when I open the zipper of my bag...But that is another story. Perhaps a tomorrow project since my next party is on Friday.

About that Menu board...

Remember that day when I was feeling all inspired and made a menu board? I was thinking I could save myself quite a few wondering moments when I decide on what to make for dinner. Well, the day to day thing didn't quite work. It was intended for this:
But this is what it always looked like:
A blank frame just hanging lazily on the wall. The other day I had another brain storm: I have SO many frozen things in my freezer that I decided that I should start to use some of it up rather than hoard it, waiting for I don't know exactly what. Apparently THIS method will save me the wondering moments and might also help save a few dimes in the end:Hopefully this means that I no longer will have to throw out as much food and Ryan will always have a lunch the next day. A nice swap from p b and j, hey Ryan? And hopefully this also means that I will start using up that food on the bottom of my freezer, and other than dairy and produce I can visit the grocery store once a month. We'll see...for now, my February month dinners are planned! And I don't have to go shopping for it since all the stuff for this month is already in my freezer.

A Trick...Thanks to her Uncle Don

Thanks to Uncle Don, I find all kinds of treasures in Camia's shirts at the end of the days. Even things she puts in her shirts while visiting...

A Little Princess...

I took some photos of Camia today. She is a very observant and happy creature:
She is all smiles:And her latest thing, a new word she learned last week:
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! It makes me laugh every time because this is the face she pulls:
She even plugs her nose!

Cards!!

I've been making more time for card-making in the last couple days, mainly because I have decided that it would be nice to include thank-you cards in with the hostess package as well as a thank-you with their order when it comes in. Limiting myself to using only scraps, this is what I've come up with for my January hostesses:
