Sight-seeing: The Capilano Suspension Bridge

Last week my good friend Theresa came home for three weeks from her stay in Costa Rica where she is teaching English to several high school aged students. When she is down, we usually try to do things and see things neither of us has ever done before. Because of family holidays, this week is the only week that we can spend together, so we have been busy cramming things in. Monday resulted in an 'adventure' to downtown Lynden to window shop in the pouring rain. I did not bring my camera. (Silly new-ish mom!!) Teusday we headed to our friend Jennifers for some girl time and to complete her baby announcements. Wednesday we had a break ( :) ) and I did some housework that had not been looked at all week. Thursday resulted in an exciting trip to the Capilano Suspension Bridge somewhere near North Vancouver.

Since no strollers are allowed by the bridges for obvious reasons, I made a carrier so I could take Camia and still have both hands to hang on for dear life when the bridge was swinging due to some kids who thought it would be funny to see how many people would fear for their lives. (On our way back over the bridge, a ghostly voice could be heard saying 'do not shake the bridge.' 'Please do not shake the bridge'. We soon discovered that it was not, in fact, a ghost, but there was a watch tower similar to those in the old T.V. show "Baywatch" where a young man sat repeating these phrases over and over again.) It worked fabulously and Camia loved it too. I also made a 'rope' like thing out of the same fabric that attaches to the carrier with buttons so that the stuffy she has loved so much the last couple months wouldn't get tossed over the side of one of the bridges followed by a resounding 'Uh-Oh!!!!' (and then a million more 'uh-oh's will follow, all done in one breath).

After walking around the park for 2 hours, reading signs and walking among the tree tops, we completed the circut and ended up in the same place we had started.
